You Showed Me The Way

I am a WOMAN now,
Yes I am still your child.
Again thinking of you,
Always brings a huge smile.

Along our journey,
At times I became mad.
To see you as HUMAN,
Would leave me feeling sad.

Simplicity of thoughts,
You really didn't know.
Your intent not to harm,
Only wanted to GROW.

Love is what you needed,
However received pain.
You continued to LOVE,
Despite the lack of gain.

Your HEALER never left,
Been in and on our side.
Providing while leaches,
Were there only to ride.

Your Spirit is so strong,
The woman I now see.
You're the OVER-COMER,
Of life's atrocity.

Keep STANDING on your feet,
Fight hard like your mother.
Break this wicked cycle,
Abused from another.

Since faith is the substance,
I'm here today to say.
I learned love in spite of,
Mom YOU showed me the way!
